Jannel Sweigert Warrior Award

We have created another way to connect with our local community. Annually, at our Golf Tournament, we will give out an award in hopes to help a brave cancer warrior and their family. The Foundation provides the recipient with a grant and a custom buckle in honor of Jannel Block-Sweigert who lost her own battle with cancer in 2024. She was such a beautiful person inside and out a generous supporter of Key For a Cure since its inception.

We have named the gift: Jannel M. Block-Sweigert Warrior Award.

Jannel Block-Sweigert of Salinas, grew up in Southern California and moved to Salinas in 1989. Jannel married the love of her life Harry Sweigert in 2004. Together they built a beautiful life raising their 4 kids. She loved her family very much, was strong in her faith, loved spending time with her grandchildren, gathering with friends and trips to Maui. She truly was loved by all who met her, and her laugh was contagious. She passionately worked for years as an escrow officer throughout Monterey County. Jannel enjoyed her work and made so many great friends and memories over the years.

We were all lucky to have known her and been blessed to call her friend.
